Penny specializes in helping couples healing from infidelity or addictive behaviors in their marriage. Most clients come  in some stage of that work. In the cases of infidelity until the affair is ended and an agreement to recommit to the marriage is reached, there is little if anything we can do to make the marriage healthier. The straying partner's attention and focus is consumed by the affair partner. The efforts of the betrayed spouse to fix the marriage are often viewed as annoyance in no way can they compete with the fantasy relationship of an affair.

With that in mind, much of the early focus and strategy will look at what the faithful partner can do to change the dynamics in the marriage, rock the affair boat, and other direct steps to end the affair. This is incredibly difficult and counter- intuitive work. Some very emotionally disciplined individuals can do it on their own, a few stumble into doing the right things accidentally - the rest simply stumble along either divorcing or never truly healing their marriage.
